Twitter releases handcrafted in Windows 8 application


After announcing future local Windows 8 app months ago, the public network at last delivers with the common Twitter features and a few exclusive add-ons.

Twitter for Windows 8 application has finally beat Microsoft's Windows Store. The public network announced today that it was launching the fresh app which was exclusively tailored for Windows 8 devices strategy.

In addition the usual Connect, Home , Me tabs, the Windows 8 application has a host of extra features. There's shatter view, which lets users change the size of the Twitter app and use other apps next to it. There are two new charms “Share and Search” which let users tweet or search from some app. And, at last, there are Twitter live tiles and notifications that are on view no matter which app is in a row.
Twitter for Windows 8 brings you all the design, skin and functionality of Twitter joint with the fast and fluid technology of Windows 8, Twitter says in its app report.
Despite having apps for most major platforms, Twitter has never been on Windows for PC. The micro blogging site announced it was working on a native Windows 8 app back in October but has been silent on the project ever since. Over the past year, Twitter has been making a drive to create a consistent experience across as many platforms as possible, be it the Web, iOS, Android, OS X, BlackBerry, and still the Windows Phone.
